Dress-up day Friday!

It was Monster and Book character day and we had
some great costumes in Room 11.

Monsters holding their Pop-up monsters!

What a fun way to end the week. Some AWESOME costumes! Check out our school Facebook page and watch a small video clip of our wacky dress-up day!

Where in the World?

We have started looking at World Maps. This has helped us realise where different countries are in the world. We noticed that New Zealand is not that big and Russia is VERY big! We were able to find countries where some of our Mum and Dads are from.

We have also learnt greetings in different languages. We wrote some of them on the back of our Reading  shelf with chalk so we can remember them.

"SEESAW"

Room 11 are very excited to start using an App called Seesaw. We have the app on 3 of our class iPads and hope to use it properly next week. Check out the video below to learn more!

Notices will come home to give you more information once we get it up and running.

Welcome back! Term 2 is here!

We have had a spectacular first two days back at school. The children seem to be well-rested and ready for learning.

Google Ninjas!
Mrs Horan and Room 3 have been helping us learn how to use our Google accounts. Here are one of the checklists that we have been working on. See if your child can remember how to do these things on a Google or Word Doc!

Room 11 students have a Room 3 Master to help them along the way.

What's in store?
Our focus this term is Culture and Identity. We will be learning about the cultures in our classroom and looking at Myths and Legends. Cool stuff!

For Maths we are learning how to tell the Time. It would be great if the children can take this learning home and talk about time with their families.
We have also been learning our doubles and focusing on subtraction problems. Any basic facts practise is great help for our Maths learning. Just a reminder that we have a Studyladder link here on our blog.

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and are ready for the term ahead!
